The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. "Scanning" a user-manual that is in picture format to text

My company gets all of our supplies etc from Israel including the user manuals that go with them.  We asked the company for an electronic copy of the manual so that we can edit it in a format that would be easily changed because of the grammar differencs here & there.  The problem is that they do not have an original copy, and all they have is what they sent to their printer, which is a picture file for each page. (JPG or something)  

So, the question, I have a 70 page document with graphs, tables, pictures, text, bullets etc that I need to get into editable format.  Now, right now it's looking like I need to re-type the whole thing, which is....well, a nightmare.  So, I was just wondering if anyone knew of a solid program that could scan through the picture file & turn it into text.  Or, does anyone know of a good scanner software that is great at doing OCR?  (with tables, graphs etc).  I am fine with having to re-insert the pictures and all of that, but am just quite afraid of the idea of having to re-type all of it.

Please advise.
