The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Hi,
I installed norton antivirus 2003 and I seem to be having some problems with auto protect and e-mail scanning.
My problem is... when install norton everything seen to go pretty smooth until I start to run live updates. Everthing seem to update okay for the exception of common files. When it get to the point of updating the common files it give me this message....

Windows XP 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2
Common Client Core 1.0.2

LiveUpdate was not able to complete this update.

Please contact Technical Support and provide all information displayed on this screen.

The files below could not be updated by LiveUpdate:
-----------------------------------
File: C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\SYMANT~1\ccWebWnd.dl^
238712 Bytes 7/14/2004 22:18:08 v103.0.0.83.

When I reboot my computer norton Auto Protect will not start and I get an error on Email Scanning. I have gone into options and click on auto protect and and email scanning but, when I go back to the main screen Auto protect goes back to off and Email Scanning keeps displaying the error message! Not sure if it has something to do with the error message above.

My compute has.... a celeron - windows XP home with service pack 2.  I have already uninstalled and reinstalled Norton Antivirus 2003, I also have Norton Firewall, but this is happing before I installed firewall. I currently have unstalled both of these programs.   Any help would be greatly apperciated.

Thanks
