Outlook signature displays in wrong font

Hi All,

i'm using outlook 2000 and have created a signature in tahoma font.  However the signature keeps displaying in New times roman even though it does not show up like this in the signature editor and i have my fonts set to tahoma.

Can anybody help?

Check your emails are in html format, and the option create emails using word is unchecked.

Hi Jane,

A user posted a very similar question on another help forum here:

Marie-Claire instructs the user to change his default font within Internet Explorer -- I don't understand myself how this might fix the user's problem, but it's very quick and is worth a shot.

From Internet Explorer, click Tools -> Internet Options -> General and then click the Fonts button.  Under 'Web Page Fonts' select 'Tahoma'.

One of the first things I would check is if "Microsoft Word" is being as a default email editor or not . If yes , I would disable that option , close and open outlook and check how it goes

Hi All,

Changing the font in internet explorer seems to have done the trick.  Although, the font is staying at 12pt even though in the html i have changed it to different sizes. Can anybody help?

Try this!

>tools
  >options
    >Mail format

Click on the fonts button.

In there you'll see 3 check boxes at the bottom check the option that says "always use my fonts"  that should do the trick

I've just written it up in raw html and everythign works fine now. Previously I had used Dreamweaver MX, but outlook didn't seem to recognise some formats.

None of the above worked for me, however what did work for me was this:

Outlook 2003 on Windows XP SP2

In Outlook, go to Tools>Options>Mail Format tab

Change Compose in this message format: to HTML, then edit your signatures
Change Compose in this message format: to Rich Text, then edit your signatures
Change Compose in this message format: to Plain Text, then edit your signatures

I found that if I create my signature in Word with my desired 11 font I can then cut and paste it into my Outlook signature properties. This seems to work.
I am using HTML as my e-mail editor.
