Question

Acrobat file works on my local box but not when I call to it online.

I got a pdf file from a client and it works on my local box but when I upload it to the web and call it Acrobat generates this error:

AdbeAcroFocusWatch: Acrobat.exe - Application Error

The instruction at "0x2d82fa63" referenced memory at "0x00000008". The memory could not be "read". Click ok to terminate the program.

I tried opening it Illustrator and making a new one, I also tried copying and pasting it into a new doc and resaving. I got a bunch of files from the client and I get this only with a few.

Does anyone know the problem?

i guess, u need to install adobe reader fully..

AdbeAcroFocusWatch is called when u call adobe or try to open a pdf file from a browser..

Apparently upgrading to acrobat reader 7 would solve it.

In Adobe Reader, go to Edit->Preferences and check to see if you have Display PDF in Browser Checked.

I figured it out, you open the pdf in illustrator and export it out as an eps and then drag and drop it in distiller. The pdf it creates works perfectly.
