The cuteftp was working fine from last 9 months, so I dont think it is about virus. I think the problem is happening becuase of registry but don't know how to fix it.

Cuteftp cannot open...freeze.......
Hi:
I am unable to open cuteftp old version and the the latest pro verson. Whenever I open cuteftp, it freezes after showing the splash screen. Several times, I uninstall and reintall the software but still no luck.
Any suggestion?

easy solution, dont use cute ftp, noting 'cute' about it, badly written software, many people have same problem as you. you can manually cleanse registry of all cuteftp settings, but lot easier and more reliable if you install WS_FTP pro - this is original FTP program that all others steal idea from, nothing more reliable than WS_FTP. It free, why not use, and you never have problem again?

Perhaps you can download the processexplorer utility from systeminternals.com and look at the handles/processes it is trying to spawn. They have other utilities like filemon that would also give enough information as to what files are causing the lockups.
Just curious what OS are you using and any antivirus software/firewall software that are installed on the box.

from where did you download the apps. always download from official site because of the viruses or some data(dll files) of your application would be missing
