Browse All TopicsI had Norton Internet Security 2005 installed on my XP Pro computer. After a year of fighting with it hogging system resources, the failure of the Anti-Spam feature to work, the inability to get a decent, correct and timely response from tech support at Symantec and too many hours spent uninstalling and reinstalling it before to try to get it to function, I'm done.
I've gone through Add/Remove programs on the mistaken assumption that I could remove the program this way. I've removed Symantec PC Anywhere and Live Update from my machine. I've deleted the Symantec folder from Program files.
After all that, I tried to install Symantec AV corporate (the recommended program of my employer and one that has worked well for us). The installation starts and then gives me a message saying it was interrupted. I've tried twice and no luck.
What other hidden things do I need to remove to allow me to complete this installation?
This question is worth 500 points. I'd pay $500 to get rid of this damn program because that is at least what it has cost me in time and productivity this year!
