I can't uninstall MS Office Professional 2003

My MS Word crashes the computer at times so I wanted to uninstall it from my computer and then reinstall it to reset any possible corrupt files.

I went to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and clicked on "Remove" next to MS Office Professional 2003 but nothing happened. It momentarily flashed the uninstaller but then nothing. The same thing happens if I click on the "Change" button which is next to the "Remove" button.

If I just insert the MS Office 2003 CD in the drive and run the installation program over the current version, it gives me an error saying "Uninstallation of the patch package is not supported".

Any ideas on how I can uninstall MS Word or the entire Office Application?

I have Win XP Pro.
