I did not see any Norton or Semantec services running. I uninstalled, rebooted, re-installed. Ghost is now working properly.
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI'm running Norton Ghost 2003 on Windows XP. The application launches, but when I click "Advanced -> Clone", I see the error message in a small popup dialog box: "Couldn't Contact Ghost Start Agent". The application actually seems to run up to where I can select drive 1 and drive 2 and it displays the hard drive serial numbers.
I've checked "Computer Management -> Services" and can't remember which service is required to run Ghost. I'm guessing the correct service is simply not started. On the other hand, I don't see anything that says Semantec, Norton, or Ghost in the list. Can someone remind me what service to look for? or other ideas? Thanks.

check if the ghost service is running (start > run >> SERVICES.MSC and look for the norton services and their status)
if this does not solve it,
reinstall norton ghost (remove, reboot, install)
