Have you tried Multicast server ver 7 or 8 from Windows? It's a very convenient way while you work something else on that machine.
You also can make a boot cd/floppy with Ghost 8 (for dos) where you have more options, i'm sure they all work very well and at full speed. By ex you have a peer to peer option using TCP/IP protocol, and another 3 Ghost cast options.
Depending by what hard disk controller you use, assure you have the adequate drivers installed (dos drivers).
Lack of dos drivers could be your problem in this case.
If you can not work around, it's possible to use external USB HDD for the Ghost image instead of the network.
Ghost 8 for dos, the same small utility runs also from Windows, it can detect external USB devices directly from dos.

I have found that for some reason there are some machines that I just cannot get to ghost correctly. For those machines I use Acronis TrueImage. I am in the process of moving over to Acronis for all machines as it is in my opinion a better product. Anyway... for the machines I had the problem with I found that if I made the Image local on the target machine I could later re-image the machine over the network w/o a problem. It was just an issue with creating the image.
