Failed backups with Veritas V.10

It's the SBS version that is running; it installs the remote agent bij default.
Actually the server is only backupping the local drives, so there is  no remote server being backupped.
I think the server somehow wants to backup itself through the remote agent......

Additional error information in the veritas backuplog:
"V-79-57344-65072 - The Exchange Server is not responding. Backup set canceled.
V-79-57344-65072 - The connection to target system has been lost. Backup set canceled.
AOFO: Initialization failure on: "Shadow?Copy?Components". Advanced Open File Option used: No.
The network connection failed during the snapshot. Check the network, and then run the job again.

NOTE:  after having excluded exchange mailboxes from veritas backup, same error from the remote agent...

What agents do you have please?  Sounds like the exchange agent is not installed correctly (if at all).

With installation you can't check or uncheck any options; the package (including the options) is installed completely.

We have done this now 2 times (incl. reboots and stuff), but error is coming back.

Anychance of a translation to english please?

I see you understood the error without us handing you over a translation. I'm sorry to inform you i've alreadey tried the solution in the suggested link. This wil indeed solve the SBSMonitoring error, but this error is of no influence to our problem. In fact, we dot not even back-up any SQL- or MSDE-instance.

It will, however, help cleaning up the event log of non-interesting events.

I happen to be on site for the next few hours and it seems the back-up has run succesfully for 5 days in a row now. Still don't believe the problem is solved though, because there were no major (or minor) configuration changes.

Back-up Exec and Windows have been updated fully.

The server is even using the latest hardware-drivers.

Back-up has run succesfully for 6 days in a row now. It's a record.
