I am using Microsoft Virtual PC 2004 which comes with Sound Blaster 16 installed as the virtual sound card. When I open the volume control window and switch it to record mode the only volume controls shown are Microphone, MIDI and Line. Is there anyway to get it to show the Stereo or Mono Mix volume controls?
Note: The Microphone, Line, and MIDI are the only options that you can select to display.

I finally found a sound program that works perfectly. It is a virtual sound cable basically that acts as a Playback and Record sound card even if your system does not have a sound card. It is allowing me to take the wave out from one application and record it into another application on the same computer where the virtual sound card that came with Virtual PC wouldn't because there was no WAVE IN on the record side.

I looked through the Virtual PC docs and didn't see anything that might help with the adding a stereo mix control. I then started up a few Virtual PC's ==> XP, 2000, and WinME behaved the same as you've noted; Win98SE also had an overall recording level (mix) slider. I'm not aware of any way to force the additional controls in XP -> but just for grins I installed Cool Edit Pro in a VM, to see it would provide any additional mixing controls; but it only uses the Windows mixer (same controls you've already described). I think it's simply a function of what the drivers for the installed sound card provide; and with an old SoundBlaster 16 what you're seeing is all you get.
