Screen Capture Software

We are a CPA firm that has gone "paperless" and we have many users that have dual monitors, but we have many many laptop users who do a lot of field work. Someone mentioned to me that they used to have a little application that ran in the system tray that would allow them to take a quick screen capture. It would really launch an additional application it would just turn whatever they selected (maybe just a part of the screen) it a graphic file.

This is tough to explain, but try to image you are working in Word 2000 and you are working in a document that you want to compare to another Word document, but the application you are working in doesnt allow you to have them both open at the same time.. So Ive got my DOC open and I want to take a quick capture of the file and then close it down. Then open a different DOC and work on it while referring back to this graphic (screen capture) of the other DOC.

I looked a a few applications but they always want you to save the file or open the application once you've done a capture of some sort..

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
