Browse All TopicsI have XEROX CentreWare Network Scanning software loaded on a server running 2003 in conjunction with a XEROX WorkCentre Pro 35. Lately I cannot add users to the software. When I try to add a new user, using XEROX Network Scanning application, right click on the scanner listed, manage users, modify template list, in users and groups, there is only one server listed and that is the one that the software is loaded on. In the past, instead of a server name, it showed the domain name. Now it only shows the groups and no individual users. In the past it showed both and I was able to select the user and add them to the template list.
When I click OK to exit the screen I get the following error message:
CentreWare Network Scanning could not modify permissions for \\domainname\username on Directory \\servername\scanning\cw_s
Please update permissions manually.
I know this must be a permissions issue, but for the life of me I can't figure out what was done nor how to undo whatever was done. So in responding, please be as detailed as possible.
thanks...Rich

You could take a look at the file repository/template sections on Centre Ware.. I'm not familiar with the app, but on the IS it should be under the 'Scan' tab (type the IP address of your Pro 35 into your browser window, e.g. http://192.168.21.5, print a config sheet to get the IP address - bottom button of three to the right of the screen, select 'machine info', then 'configuration report' .. it's under TCP/IP Settings I think.)
Anyway, if you're looking on the Internet Services page, click the 'Scan' tab, check all permissions. Sounds like it's a users permissions are incorrect when writing to folders.. you could try ftp'ing into the site and logging in and creating and deleting a folder, that's the best way to check permissions..
