Question

Design Interface/Control

Asked by: SHFDEV

Dear All,

I am planning to make a shell from which different types of applications run and these applications belong to categories. For this I have downloaded different controls which are

1.      ComponentOne OutBar(Vertical menu)
2.      Actri Pro Navigation Bar Control
3.      DevExpress Navigation Bar Control
4.      EyeFinder Navigation Bar Control
5.      Xceed Component Smart UI for .Net

I want to purchase a control which provides best interface facilities so if anyone has any idea or used some controls mentioned above or other than these which help you a lot i.e. good design and run time properties and methods etc., please give your comments. I would really appreciate your valuable feedback on this.

Thanks & Regards
Basharat

Hi Basharat,

Have you heard about Visual Studio 2008 Shell? It is only in Beta version at the moment but it is looking like it will be extremely useful as a base shell for most types of applications. And it is free!

You can start playing with Beta version now if you download Visual Studio 2008 beta 2 and then also download the SDK.

Hope this is useful for you.

Hi Nick

Thank you for your feedbacks. The Visual Studio 2008 beta 2 may have many bugs as it is a beta version and we can't afford it. Sice we have to deliver the project within dead line so cannot wait for the final release of Visual Studio 2008. So if you have any other suggestions about any other controls you think they provide good interfaces then please tell us. We would really appreciate it.

Thanks & Regards
Basharat

Hi Basharat,

I understand what you are saying. If you need one straight away then I think the following one is good and not very expensive and you can download and try for free before you buy.

Very easy to use.
