How to completely remove Adobe Acrobat Professional and serial number?

Not sure about Acrobat 8, but we use the windows installer cleanup utility to do this on several other programs.

Try this...in the registry....rename HKLM\Software\Adobe to HKLM\Software\~~Adobe

If you have other adobe products though, this would be bad....so please only attempt if you dont have other adobe items you cant reinstall...Or at least uninstall the others first...

You will need to also delete Acrobat files from the folders:
C:\windows\prefetch

Go back into the registry and do a search for adobe.  Once you find something delete it.  You are missing something in the registry and that is why it is still resident in the system.  Also, delete the adobe files from the folder c:\windows\prefetch as the skipper mentioned.

Be wary of registry cleaners, they can do unrecoverable damage to the registry.

After removing the product, and removing the entire directory od Acrobat 8 from the hard disk,

Set a restore point in case you mess up -- then simply run regedit.exe --

Use F3 to search for the word "Acrobat" or "Adobe Acrobat"  -- you could also append 8 if you want.

Whatever keys come up -- just delete them, but do NOT delete anything else.

Reboot.  Now CS3 should install correctly.  This is a MAJOR MAJOR problem with CS3 -- Adobe stupidly never tested it with previous versions of Acrobat installed, and in most cases, CS3 will not run.

Good luck -- Adobe needs to be creamed for this idiotic release without adequate testing.

thanks to your answers !  I did the johnb6767's solution, and now Acrobat tells me this error message "no valid acrobat serial number, acrobat will now quit"...  I have reinstalled all CS3 suite and reactivated the suite via Photoshop, hoping that Acrobat would register too, like the others programs of the suite, but it doesn't work, it still gives me the error message.  How can I enter the serial number else than into Photoshop ?

I was assuming you had already uninstalled Acrobat, before doing that suggestion....

yes now it's installed, but when I did the solution you proposed, I don't remember if it was installed or not, I tried so many things that now I'm a little bit confused of what I've done or not !! :D

Do you know what I should do ?  If I deactivate and uninstall all the suite again, and then reinstall, do you think that there's chances that it will work ?  Don't want to uninstall and reinstall to many times, it's pretty long !

Just to let you know about my problem, I arrived to a point where it was not much longer for me to reinstall completely windows rather than keep trying without results !  Now everything works fine! Thanks for your answers !
