"Enter Network Password" problem: Won't save password, keeps popping up

Plagued by "Enter Network Password" popup, I found an interesting solution at EE but am not savvy enough to implement it. The instruction says to go to the following site and "Merge Registry Entries," but it is not clear how to do the merge. Can you give the the explicit steps once I get to the site?
