How to remotely uninstall yahoo messenger

I am trying to remotely uninstall Yahoo Messenger client via the command line.  I have done this once before but cannot remember the different switches that I put in to get it to work.

Does anybody know of an easy way to wipe Yahoo Messenger from a user's machine without having to access the PC and logon with an account having local admin privileges?

I am accessing command line remotely with psexec and was trying the unwise.exe, but with no results.

Will that command supress all prompts to the user?  Remember, i am logging on remotely to a pc in my local network through psexec.  The user may also be logged into Yahoo and have the program running....i am wondering if maybe this is why it's not completing.

Any other ideas or tips on what i'm missing?  Of course, if anybody's done this an easier way, please let me know.  Thanks all.

No, that's the command line to uninstall when the program isn't running.  Not sure about verbosity, short of installing YIM and then removing it again :)
If YIM is set to launch on boot or otherwise active when you attempt to uninstall you will need to disable the Ypager process first.

Actually, you can add the "/S" switch to the command that MASQUERAID suggested and that will perform a 100% silent uninstall of Yahoo Messenger... e.g.:

C:\PROGRA~1\Yahoo!\MESSEN~1\UNWISE.EXE /S /U C:\PROGRA~1\Yahoo!\MESSEN~1\INSTALL.LOG

I think alexmclv has the right command, but somehow it is not working in my environment.  May have something to do with my remote access solution.  I am going to try to script it.  I will go ahead and reward the points as I know I let this one hang out too long....sorry

Thanks for the points. Do you get any type of error when you try to execute the command? Also, remember that Yahoo Messenger CANNOT be running when you try the command.

You can use the "taskkill /f /im yahoomessenger.exe" command to end the Yahoo Messenger process and then run the uninstall command.
