How to sign a XML file with .pfx certificate?

Hi all.
I have a XML file and a .pfx certificate. I want to sign the XML and upload it onto a server. I have no clue
on how to sign the XML with the .pfx.

I would be happy if someone tells me an easy way to sign the XML.

Hello.

Sorry guys for a very late response. Was stuck in some work so could not respond be fore this.

I checked shawnsouthern's link and it is really good. Simple to understand and easy steps to follow. But I was not able to run the code mentioned on that page. Even when I install MS Web Services package from the URL given in the page, VS 2008 cannot find the Microsoft.Web namespace. Am I missing anything here?

Could be that you're missing the required reference to Microsoft.Web.Services3 component.
See if it shows in the Solution Explorer of your project under "References".
(If not - right-click "References", choose "Add reference..." and pick the component named above.)

I was indeed missing the reference. But now I am facing another problem. I am getting some 'wrong network password.' error. I know I have to specify the password of the .pfx certificate. I am not sure where I specify the same in the program on the link above.

I'm guessing you need to use the following version of the X509Certificate2 constructor:

X509Certificate2(String1, String2)

String1 - file name
String2 - password

Hi szczepan.

Thanks for the fast reply. In the program X509Certificate2 constructor was already used. I was just not passing the .pfx password as a parameter to same. After I passed it as you have mentioned it, the program signed the XML as a charm!
