My apologies. I deleted them too. It still does not work.

Browse All TopicsHello there, some of my customers are visiting a private website over the internet. On first logon, it ask them for a username and password - with the option to save the password for future use. If the choose the option to save the password, the next time they visit the website it doesn't prompt them for the password anymore it just goes straight in to the website. The user have not decided that they don't want the password to be cache for security reasons but I can't seem to be able to delete remove the password. I tried the following:
a. Disable Autocomplete Settings on Tools, Internet Options, Content, AutoComplete - this does not work
b. I deleted Cookies, deleted files on Tools, Internet Options, General, Temporary Interent files - this does not work
c. Deleted the Protected storage system provider area at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software
d. OK. Deleting the profile works but I really need to know where the setting it stored as I have at least 20 users with this problem.
Any know where else to look to delete cached passwords?

Hello there,
under the Content Tab in Internet Options>Auto Complete>Clear Forums and Clear Passwords. Make this should remove all of the users passwords they have logged into where it has been saved.
Simply disabling Auto Complete without deleting the cached forums and passwords will still exists. If this doesn't work, try reinstalling IE6.
