Does it matter how many dpi I use when scanning if I afterwards will use OCR-software?

I am scanning my books on a book scanner (OpticBook 3600), to store my books in PDF-format on the hard drive. After I have scanned into TIF (Aldus Tiff), I will use ABBYY FineReader Pro to convert these TIF-images into editable text.

So I wonder if it really matters what resolution I use when scanning? Because the images will be converted into editable text in PDF-files.
