Hello good people,
Workstation: Windows XP (current service packs).
Application: Numara Track-It! v. 8.x, which requires a [MANUAL "Hello; it's 2009!".] login each time it is run.
Dream: Automatically log in to Numara Track-It!.
1. During Windows login, Numara Track-It! should start up, automatically accept a username and password, and run the application.
and/or
2. Click Numara Track-It! icon (Desktop or Quick Start Bar), and the Numara Track-It! link properties should contain the elements required to run the application and accept the username and password.
Googled this and even contacted Numara without an answer.
Googled "login scripts" and find only server side, mapped drive and services startups.
I recall back in 2000, at my company, some whiz bang figured out how to get GoldMine to auto-login from the icon link properties and with Windows login. THAT WAS USEFUL.
Any takers on this one? 500 points, tens of thousands of happy Track-It! users, and some warm, fuzzy, happy Karma for you (as well as a place in application development history; over there by the stack of stuff, from that famous thing those people did at that place that time).

Getting windows login to run an application is a no brainer but your issue is application specific:
"Numara Track-It! should start up, automatically accept a username and password, and run the application."
You will need to find out if the developers have any command line switches that can be added to the exe startup call to add username and password. If the developers of Track-It! have not added this functionality then there is nothing more you can do. Unless you want to invest in a recordable macro type program running all the time on each users desktop that will look for applications and type stuff in for you automatically under pre-defined conditions.
