Issue with Microsoft TimeZone Utility
I'm having the same issue as the people are here >
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/cjacks/archive/2009/12/16/windows-7-debugging-demo-troubleshooting-the-broken-microsoft-time-zone-utility.aspx
With the microsoft timezone utility.
I can't understand the provided options for a fix mentioned there. I've never used the registry editor before and I also don't have a windows xp computer.
Some pre-requisists
- Don't have a windows XP machine.
- Using win7
- Don't want to use a "virtual box", "live distro" or any other type of emulation.
- Not familiar with shimming.
- I've already manually installed DotNet 1.1 from >
http://download.microsoft.com/download/a/a/c/aac39226-8825-44ce-90e3-bf8203e74006/dotnetfx.exe
Please don't ask me to use something else. Or use microsoft gadgets.
This is exactly the app i would like to work flawlessly on windows 7.

Mr Johnson,
Well, we were finally able to get the application working properly after some trial and error.
Your comments were helpful. However that particular key import was incomplete. Thank you for your response non-the-less.

Thanks for the reply.
I did try importing that into the registry (as admin+not admin) and just ended up getting the same error all over again.

Tried a few other things, removing the app. Cleaning the registry. Reinstalling the app then re-importing the modifications again. Same error every time.
Even tried in compatibility mode. Same thing.
