I actually just figured it out. All it took was uninstalling media player, deleteing the c:\program files\windows media player\ folder, then downloading and reinstalling version 10. Thanks for the response!

I have uninstalled and reinstalled media player 10, updated directX, java, mozilla. I uninstalled Media player10 and loaded version 9 which fixed the problem for a while, but it came back.

Have you got anything else open that uses direct show or any direct x things in the background because I only had that error when I was trying to do too much and I had to close down the other things in the background to be able to use the things I wanted to do.
Other then that normally mozilla asks you to install a plugin ie a yellow bar at the top requesting to install such and such a plugin for such and such an item, ie if you wanted to play flash it asks you something along the lines of " Are you sure you want to install flash or do you want to install the flash plugin to be able to view flash "
What about going to start --> run and type
dxdiag
and run the direct x diagnostics to make sure that you dont get any errors with direct x. ( just as a thought that is )
Have you tried resetting the settings for either mozilla or internet explorer.
Other then that I would be interested in finding out what the problem is.
