Is there a way to convert .ISO (DVD image file) to DivX format - Unanswered 350 Points

Hello Peeps,

Is there a way that I could convert a .ISO file to DivX format...Earlier, I have converted DVD into a .ISO image file ( Don's ask me why I didn't convert DVD to .avi format in the first place!)...and now, I want to convert the same .ISO file to DivX format. Please let me know if there is a software to do that!!

    They have copy to dvd and divx to dvd applications which are useful.

    If you are still stuck then look here :

    www.videohelp.com

    Once you are on that site click on the link called "Conversion" or something simmiliar to that.

    There should be some useful info there.

    If that does not help you could try iso buster ( search and find it on google, download it and install it ) then extract your dvd iso into movie_name folder and put all the vob, ifo files inside of that folder and call the new folder video_ts.

    Then use the software from vso to convert it from a dvd structure to a divx.

    Thanks for the quick reply...But I am not sure if I want to bust the ISO file (well...actually I dont want to) into video_ts folder. I was looking more for a software that I would convert ISO --> DivX. Anyways, I will look in the sites that you mentioned :)

    Go check out this utility http://www.undisker.com/uhlp-howhelp.html,it lets you extract ISO images without having to burn them to cd again, extract your dvd files to your hard drive and then pull them into your favourite dvd ripper program like DivX and rip them.

    What you want is not possible. ISO is a disk image and divx is a video file. The content of the ISO image can be, if is video, converted to divx. How to convert the content of the iso image into divx? Just mount the image file using a virtual cd/dvd software, if you have Windows XP you can use this patch: http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/xpvirtualcd.html

    Then you'll have to do the conversion of the dvd into divx, but... is the policy of this site not to help users to infringe copyright laws.

    sorry for the late reply..I have been busy moving in and outta country. anyways, I will give the virtual cd drive a spin. BTW, there is nothing that is going against US law here, for my home video(DVD collection) that I wanted to share over ftp with my friend overseas.

    I would agree with Crissand. You can also use Daemon Tool to mount the image as a DVD and then do conversion to AVI.
