Hi,

For example, at site MSN.com it won't play the MSN video, but that is just one example.  It seems that any video that uses MS Media Player in a window within the web page has the same problem.  If the video launches the media player independent of the web page then the video plays okay.

Thanks

thank you try this may help, so what your saying is the default web browser media player is not playing the files?
If I play a video on a web page sometimes it opens the media player on a small separate player, what file formats do you have associating with the desktop WMP?
What version do you have?

First make sure that playing videos is enabled in Internet Explorer:

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools> Internet Options. Click on the "Advanced" tab and scroll down to "Multimedia" and make sure that "Play videos in web pages" is checked.

If that doesn't fix it, I would suggest reinstalling Windows Media Player:

Remember, IE7 is still in beta testing, meaning it is likely to be full of bugs/problems still.

Have a look at the following thread, and you will see lots of people are having the same problem!

I'm guessing you won't see this page properly:

However, you will probably find that you will be able to with an alternative browser.
Download and use mozilla firefox to confirm this. It's a free browser that many people prefer to Internet Explorer:

Good luck!
