Music Organizer and player software

Hi,

A friend of mine is looking for a program that can help organize by name genere, etc.. sort, maybe even rate different mp3's and sort them that way.. that is free or low cost and can hold huge collections of music. I came across a program like this once a few years back it was an open source program I thought it was called something jukebox or toucan, parrot or something I haven't been able to find it again... Anyone have any recommendations I would prefer something free but if it costs something as long as either way it has no limitations and no proprietary file conversion involved.
