The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Getting album art for MP3 tracks that can be used by iTunes any other media players - recommendations?

Asked by grjitdept in General Multi-Media Software, iPod, iTunes Software for MP3 Downloads

I have a large (legal!) MP3 collection ripped from my CD collection that I've had for a few years and always play back on my PC. I currently use Creative mediasource which comes with my Creative X-Fi Elite soundcard.

Having recently dabbelled in iTunes for my wife's new iPod Nano, I've managed to import my MP3's (about 34GB worth) into the iTunes library. I've then found the artwork feature which is very nice! itunes can pull down some of the artwork automatically, but only a small proportion of my tracks, and even then apparently the artwork is not stored with the MP3's but rather inside the itunes database...

I'd like if possible to download the remaining artwork and link it to the albums I have, in a way that both itunes AND other general players can use.

I've heard of mediamonkey for getting artwork and filling in missing tag info like year/genre etc. Any other good sources?

And what is the best way to store the artwork once obtained? within the id3 tag of an mp3 file or in the same folder?

In a nutshell I've looking for the best way to get all the artwork for my MP3 collection (which is well organised in artist/album folder structure), and if possible fill in missing tag info like year. If album artwork is embedded in the ID3 tag, will itunes pick this up?Start Free Trial
