The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

What is the best video converter for ipod?

Asked by hlthomas in General Multi-Media Software, iPod, Software for Ripping and Encoding MP3s

Hello all, I know this subject has been beaten to death but the posts I find here are somewhat dated and the reviews online are either biased or poor. Thought I would get a contemporary recommendation here from the experts.

Need recommendation for an ipod video converter (to convert videos/dvd's for my son). All the converter needs to do is:
1.) rip dvd's to mp4 and...
2.) convert youtube video (.flv) to mp4.

The other criteria are:
1.) good to great quality conversion
2.) fast
3.) certified or known to be compatible w/ Vista
4.) can be free or not
5.) can provide multiple reccommendations but let me know what your favorite is, and why.

I have used Dvdxsoft's Free Ipod Converter and Cucusoft's Ipod video converter suite. They were ok but not long after I loaded them Vista got really hosed and I had to reload my original system image. I keep my data segregated on a separate USB hard drive so the reload was somewhat painless but I am leary now of installing apps that are not known to be Vista friendly.

There seems to be an attraction for Super, AVS Video Tools, Videora, Total Video Converter but I am looking for your expert advice. Again, pls be sure they play nice with Vista.

Thanks
