Trying to convert widescreen .vod file to .flv

I'm really struggling with this one.

I have a friends short wedding on dvd and I'm trying to convert it to a flash file to show on the web.

I've tried pulling the .vod file into imovie or final cut pro and they both bring it in at 640x480 - which is quite squished.  I can't find how to unsquish it.  The video itself is wider than 720x480.  Its roughly 720x400....

It displays perfectly in VLC, but that won't save it as anything else.

Anyone know how, on my mac, I can convert this thing into a flash video?Start Free Trial
