- Play music (.mp3, .m4a at least)
- Search for a song, sort songs by the mp3 tags
- Update my iPod

LHerrou,
I have looked at your suggestions Floola and YamiPod. Floola - my first indication is that it's a bit unstable. It didn't automatically detect my iPod, and I could not easily find my way around the program. YamiPod is better. It works, I can add directories to sync and play from the app itself. However it is *slow*. I only tried to manage 2000 songs in the first attempt but it still was sluggish at best. I imagine this only gets worse when loading my full library.
Gecko,
I'll check out the musikCube player, it looks like it's lightweight and the 2000 songs loaded quick enough. If it can synchronize my iPod it might be just the thing.

Have you looked at Floola (http://www.floola.com )? Another option might be YamiPod (http://www.yamipod.com), but it's a bit bigger.
Also, take a look at this list and see if there's any others that may work for you:
