awesome. i cant believe i missed that icon. Just out of curiosity do you know if you cant start the software up and login on boot. Doenst look like it records unless you login.

Browse All TopicsIve got 5 dlink cameras setup in this mickey mouse software program called Dview. It works well although i cannot see recording path or setup any options for hard drive recycling. Im sure they must have it somewhere im just not sure where. Does anyone know where i can set the recording path and recycle hard drive. The dlink event log says disk Full although i have 2 1TB drives and both are empty.

I don't think you get the option to choose the paths without going to expert mode.
Probably have to setup the PC to login with a default user on boot and have the software setup Startup. It does not look like it will run anything as a service.
I do think it will run scheduled recordings as long as the software itself is running even without logging into the program directly. Though I think you would want to test this out to be certain.

On the main screen there is a icon that looks like a gear, lower left area. It is the sytem settings, click it then pick the expert mode. From expert mode you can select 'Basic Settings' which allows you to set the pathnames for scheduled, event and manual recordings.

There is also a 'recycle' button which will overwrite old recordings when the space is filled. You also select how much space to allow each recording mode to use.
You can see a picture of the screen in the manual on page 45. Here's the latest manual,

The software defaults to the programs install path and also sets a 4 GB max from the looks of the settings in the manual.
It actually does not look too bad for the free software that comes with cameras. Better than some not so free packages I have seen.
