The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Using videos within a slide presentation which can be used in a theatre show

Hello :)

I'm doing a amateur musical theatre show in a couple of weeks. The theatre have a projector and screen and I thought it would be useful to use.

As a result, I've got a whole load of motion back videos which are approx 30 seconds long. These are produced so they can loop endlessly. Most are in QuickTime format. Visually they look great when displayed onto the stage.

As someone walks onto the stage I want to hit a button on the laptop which then plays the correct video for that song. Once the song is over I'll hit another key which will FADE out the currently playing video. Through all of this no Pause or Next Slide icons can appear so the use of a DVD player is out of the question.

Every song being performed is in an order so I can prepare the video slides using PowerPoint. Between each slide I'd have a Blank Black slide which the videos will fade into thus ensure the only thing the audience see are the videos. When I hit a button the next video will fade onto the screen.

When using PowerPoint I have converted the QuickTime video's to WMV.

Issue is PowerPoint doesn't Fade in or out playing video's very well. The looping isn't too bad. There is a very slight pause but doubtful anyone will notice.

Is there any product out there which I can put around 40 videos into a timeline with each video looping itself until I press a key which fades it out and puts the sequence on pause. Then hitting a key again the next video plays which fades into the screen?

PowerPoint would be great to use if only I knew how to get a smooth fade in and out whilst the video is playing.

Thanks to anyone who can help :)
