The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Sharepoint mysites Crawl issue

Issue:

I run into an issue about every 48 where the "People" search will stop working from any site in the portal.  There are no event logs generated on either server in the farm and the "All Sites" search will still work fine.  I have been resolving the issue in the past by running a manual full crawl but now the farm is nearing the time go production and I would like to get this fixed so we do not have people search lapses.

Installation background:

I have installed MOSS 2007 on a small farm environment (2 servers 1 SQL and the other hosting every other service: Indexing front end etc).  The farm is only used for a company intranet with approx 5000 users.  Mysites are located on a separate web application named mysites also located on port 80 and is differentiated by a separate host header.  I have a full crawl running every day at 2 AM an 15 minutes incremental crawls from there on out.

The only thing I have to run with right now are a few warnings in the crawl log which I do not fully understand and I will list below.

A few references to the following warning on various sites.
http://mysites
Content for this URL is excluded by the server because a no-index attribute.

Followed by about 6000 similar to the one below.
http://mysites:80/person.aspx?guid=e73d2625-8eb...
Deleted by the gatherer (The start address or content source that contained this item was deleted and hence this item was deleted.)

If anyone could help me out here it would be greatly appreciated.
