The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

OWSTIMER.EXE is Repeatedly Updating the Identity for "OfficeServerApplicationPool" Then the Pool is Taken Offline...

Ok I've updated my user for my Share Point Central Administration Application Pool.

I used these instructions:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934838

This fixed some other issues I was having but now after iis is restarted. I get the following errors in the event log:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Event Type:        Error
Event Source:    W3SVC-WP
Event Category:                None
Event ID:              2269
Date:                     2/29/2008
Time:                     3:12:40 PM
User:                     N/A
Computer:          PROJECTSERVER

Description:
The worker process failed to initialize the http.sys communication or the w3svc communication layer and therefore could not be started.  The data field contains the error number.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
Data:
0000: 05 00 07 80               ...€
--------------------------------------------------------------------

These seem to happen at the same time I get this info record in the system section of the event log:

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Event Type:      Information
Event Source:      W3SVC
Event Category:      None
Event ID:      1080
Date:            3/2/2008
Time:            5:49:57 PM
User:            N/A
Computer:      PROJECTSERVER
Description:
The worker processes serving application pool 'OfficeServerApplicationPool' are being recycled due to 1 or more configuration changes in the application pool properties which necessitate a restart of the processes.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I then get this:

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Event Type:      Warning
Event Source:      W3SVC
Event Category:      None
Event ID:      1009
Date:            3/2/2008
Time:            5:49:58 PM
User:            N/A
Computer:      PROJECTSERVER
Description:
A process serving application pool 'OfficeServerApplicationPool' terminated unexpectedly. The process id was '1260'. The process exit code was '0xffffffff'.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
----------------------------------------------

Then if you look at the sharepoint event log you have one set of these entries every time:

----------------------------------------------

03/02/2008 17:58:56.17       OWSTIMER.EXE (0x06D4)                         0x06FC      Windows SharePoint Services         Topology                            0      High          Updating identity for application pool 'OfficeServerApplicationPool' to 'integratedspace\spadmin'.
03/02/2008 17:58:56.17       OWSTIMER.EXE (0x06D4)                         0x06FC      Windows SharePoint Services         Topology                            0      High          Identity for application pool 'OfficeServerApplicationPool' updated to 'integratedspace\spadmin'.

--------------------------------------------

After that happens about 3 times over the course of 3 to 5 minutes I get this:

-------------------------------------------

Event Type:      Error
Event Source:      W3SVC
Event Category:      None
Event ID:      1002
Date:            3/2/2008
Time:            5:49:58 PM
User:            N/A
Computer:      PROJECTSERVER
Description:
Application pool 'OfficeServerApplicationPool' is being automatically disabled due to a series of failures in the process(es) serving that application pool.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
-----------------------------

Then no PWA functions work till I restart iis...

I have been searching the web for hours on this and need help ASAP.

Thanks in advance,
