Disable initial Sharepoint login prompt

Currently I have a MOSS 2007 site that I want to use as an intranet.  Currently, however, when accessing the sharepoint.domain.com site, it immediately prompts for a username/password.  What I'd like to do, is have it so the main site is open to any and all access (anonymous perhaps?), and then for each department (sharepoint.domain.com/IT, sharepoint.domain.com/Finance, etc.) THAT is when they are prompted for their appropriate login.   I can't imagine that this would be that difficult, any ideas on what it would take to do this?Start Free Trial
