The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Updating List fails and returns 'List Item not found' using workflow

Asked by Bessemer-HD in MOSS-Sharepoint

Using Sharepoint Designer, I have created a workflow that is initiated when a new item is created.  It  has two steps:

Step 1:  Create item in Task list - Sets a variable (TaskID) to the value of List A item ID and then creates a item in a task list.  The Task list has a field in it for the TaskID.  (The reason I did this was because when the status field is updated in List A,  I want the status of the task to be updated to closed) This part of the workflow works great, when I add a new item into the List A and click submit a new item is created with all the proper values in the Task list, including the TaskID which associates it with th

Step 2: Update Task - Waits for Status in List A to not equal Open then updates Task list to Closed

Step 2 is not working.  When I update the Status in List A to not = open the Task list, more specifically the item with the correct TaskID stays with the same status of 'In Progress'.  When I look at the Workflow Status of List A I get the following results:

Error updating a list item - List item not found

The reason I created a variable in step 1 and set it to the List item ID and created a field for it in the Task list was so that it could a specific item could be uniquely identified and updated.

From the 'Update List Item' box:

Field:  Status
Value:  Completed

Find the List Item:

Field:  Open MS Support Calls:  TaskID
Value:   Variable:  TaskID (generated when a new item is created)
