The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Error When Creating Sample Data While Configuring MOSS 2007

I am attempting to install and configure MOSS 2007 on our server which already is running WSS 3.0.  At task 9 of the configuration, it errs out with the following messages in its PSC_Diagnostics log:

An exception occurred while provisioning Shared Service Provider 'SharedServices3'. System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))

I have tried to configure this 3 times now, each time failing at the same spot.  From messages in the Windows Event Log, it seemed to be having a problem with logging in with the NETWORK SERVICE account.  I put this account (temporarily) into the Administrators group, and the login error went away in the Event Log, but the failure still occurred in the MOSS configuration.
