trunked VLANs or routed network across 1Gb laser link?

Please assist in our decision making progress.

We are shortly to move into a new HQ.  We have the Cisco kit for that building, consisting of a 3750G stack in the data centre, and a 24 port 3560G on each of the four floors.  The configuration of this kit has so far been straight forward.  However, the 3560G on the top floor will be connecting to a gigabit laserlink (acting as a patch cable - no additional switches are included in the laserlink).  This laserlink will connect to a group of offices about 250metres away.  The device currently in mind to be on the end of the link is a Cisco 2960G layer 2 switch.

As we do not have layer 3 switches on both sides of laserlink, the current plan is to use VLAN1 for VTP only and other pruned VLANS for the various subnets on each side of the link.  

Please comment on this and also suggest solution if we were to have a 3560G on each end of the laserlink.  For example, should we not share VTP across the link and keep them separate "collections" of VLANS linked by routed ports rather than VTP trunk ports?  Or is there a better way?
