I have a Windows 2003 server that had a memory leak with the LSTrayAgent.exe process. Normally this process uses no more than 10 MB, however a memory leak occurred with the process consuming almost 300 MB of memory.
To further enhance the problems, this caused the real-time anti virus service (CA eTrust ITM R8.1) to constantly scan and use 85-99% of the processor.
I restarted the process and excluded the process from the real-time scanner. It seems to be under control for the moment, but can't help but wonder if anyone else has experienced this problem and if so, how did you fix it?
The server is on it's own subnet, and is a using the software to receive shut down commands from the UPS controller when power is lost. It is running Exchange 2003 and IIS as well as eTrust Secure Content Manager 8 SP1 CF3.
