When I connect using VNC Viewer /Startx (SSH Putty) I get two problems that I just can't figure out. Problem One is Speed. The lag time of actions when I operate the remote desktop is TERRIBLE...I have tried to reduce colors to 1 Byte using 256Color option with or wihout compression level set at anything 0-9. I am using cable to connect and when I work with other people that have me connext using whatever programs they use they seem to have no problem at all with speed. It's so slow it really makes working from home just impossible...I only ever connect now except for aa specific emergency...then I just wait and drink a cup of coffee while I sit and watch the screen Sloooooooowly fill.
Second problem is configuration for proper screen size. I have a moderate size X window but the remote desltop is way too big and requires constant scroll Bar use to move to the area I need. With the speed problem I just have great fun. Takes me 20 minutes to bring up an application and do ANYTHING.
Help is needed before I scrape VNC and look elsewhere for remote woork. I like the VNC/Putyy application mainly for it's SSH security access to my LAN at work.
