The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Groupwise 7, Suse Linux 9 - Unable to Communicate with Webaccess Agent

'Unable to Communicate with Webaccess Agent.'

This is the error message I get when connecting to my groupwise server with a web browser.  I get the login screen, but this message popps up when I try to authenticate.

I am running Groupwise v7 on suse 9.  ALL agents and services are on this one server.  Curretly clients can connect to the post office with the GroupWise client by port 1677.  The POA, MTA, eDirectory, Apache and Tomcat are all working.  I am sure the Web access agent is up (I used  /etc/init.d/grpwise-wa status  to confirm).  I have no firewall on this system (since it is only in my lan.)

Users are fine, the database is not corrupt.  The error logs say that user 'X' tried to log in, but that the web access service is not listening on port 7205.  Here are my port settings for the agents:

all of these ports are default to the best of my knowledge.

MTA -   TCP/IP address:localhost   Message Transfer:7100  HTTP:7180

GWIA -  TCP/IP address:localhost   Message Transfer:7102  HTTP: 9850  SMTP:25  POP:110  IMAP: 143  LDAP: 389

webAccess - TCP/IP:localhost  HTTP:7211  TCP:7205

POA - TCP/IP:localhost  Message Transfer:7101  HTTP:7181  Local Intranet:1677  Internet Proxy:0  IMAP:143  SOAP:7191

I am not sure if this is a port issue or not.  I ran recovery on both the eDirectory and Groupwise databases.  They are fine.  I am not using this as a file server, groupwise only.  I have run the suse yast update.

Thanks,
