We are currently running Groupwise 6.5 on Netware 6.5 using Apache and Tomcat. We are putting together a plan to upgrade to Groupwise 7. My questions are
1 - The Novell doc claims that we can update the POA and MTA and still use the 6.5 client -- is this REALLY the case? I hope it does work, because it would allow us to update the domain and post office over a weekend and then convert clients in groups that correspond to their training dates.
2 - Will the 6.5 Web Access agent still work on a 7 post office and domain or do we have to update GWIA and WEBAccess at the same time as the domain and post office? I would like to wait on upgrading the Web access piece until everyone has been trained, if possible.
3 - Our president REALLY wants me to put in Exchange. I have convinced him to wait on that decision until after we upgrade to GW7. I am banking on the fact that with Groupwise 7, you are supposed to be able to use the Outlook client. My question is - Does Outlook 2003 REALLY work as the client if we are on GW7? Are there any big problems, issues, or patches that I should make sure are applied? If it doesn't work, I will be forced into Exchange and we don't have the staff to support it.
4 - Any other things to look out for or patches needed before we upgrade?
Thanks
