Got a weird one...hopefully easy.
I just changed my outbound mail config to relay through my Barracuda spam firewall.
Here's the network layout
Watchguard firewall to the internet, Barracuda behind the Watchguard, mail server behind the Barracuda.
Here's how it WAS setup
Outbound mail from GWIA hit the Watchguard firewall and went out directly.
Here's how it is setup now.
Changed the properties of GWIA - SMTP/Mime Settings. Put in the IP address of the Barracuda in the field called "Relay Host for Outbound Messages". I then enabled outbound relaying and entered in the IP address of the mail server on the Barracuda.
All mail going out seems to be routing properly. The only exception is mail sent to email address at a domain that is forwarding back to the groupwise mail server. For example we have john.doe@liftinggearhire.n
et (hosted by earthlink) forwarding to john.doe@lgh-usa.com. If I send a message from my GW account internall to john.doe@liftinggearhire.n
et I get the following error..
This is the Spam Firewall at barracuda.lgh-usa.com.
I'm sorry to inform you that the message below could not be delivered.
When delivery was attempted, the following error was returned.
<john.doe@liftinggearhire.
net>: host 192.168.0.101[192.168.0.10
1] said: 550
Relaying denied (in reply to RCPT TO command)
In this case the IP address 192.168.0.101 is the IP address of the GW server.
Initially I tried enabling relaying by the liftinggearhire.net domain on the Barracuda....this didn't fix it. I have a feeling I might need to do this on the GW server, but am not sure.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks
