Mailer-Daemon says "Message status - undeliverable" in subject line of reject email.
The message states:
The attached file had the following undeliverable recipient(s):
Then it names the address minus the suffix.
This apparently happens randomly though I suspect there is logic beyond my realm of knowledge. It will select some out of a group to strip the suffix and allow others to go. Sometimes it will strip it from an individual email and other times allow the same individual through.
In my effort to gather data I BC'd myself and checked my BC and could see that even though before mailing, the address from the address book was in correctly. It had stripped it before sending as my BC showed the addressee minus the suffix. With some address modifications below to make generic I looked on the email that I sent BC to myself it shows that GroupWise lists the 2 addressees as:
"zzzzzoyt@msn".gwia.CHURCH
but Keiths email address shows as
Kkkkk and Susan Ggggggg.gwia.CHURCH
Even though the address book that pulled up their emails as:
internet:zzzzzoyt@msn.com
Kkkkk and Susan Ggggggg.gwia.CHURCH which is apparently translated to dkkkkk@juno.com
I hope this all saves you time in figuring it all out.
Novell support document #10074951 seems to address part of the issue. Their info dated 2-19-03 calls for SP3 & GWMLT1.dll which I already had in place, therefore GroupWise has been reinstalled on my desktop. Problem still not fixed.
Of that group of 12, I would consistently have 5 suffixes stripped, therefore enable to send, After the reinstall it was only 3 (same change happened on laptop which was NOT reinstalled, go figure...). These final 3 addresses I deleted from the group and address book (even though upon inspection the data was in address book correctly), then I manually retyped the contacts into the group (not drag/drop from another address book), THEN the group succeeded.
This problem is not limited to me or my machine. Others in the office experience it,
We have also had emails never go out marked as undeliverable and when we get the option to view, we delete the ones with the black line, then try to resend, only to have it tell us it still can't go,... we view, delete the additional new black lined addresses and then it again indicates that it can not be sent,... then we view and again remove the additional ones with a black line... yada yada. It may ultimately reduce a group of 25 down to a much smaller number that varies. Then to send the other 15-20 failed emails we send one at a time which usually works.
Note we are hosting our email server on-site, if that is a factor.
I have other frustrations with GroupWise incl. Palm won't Sync the calendar (I've tried GW PDA connect, Intellisync, & SmartSync to no avail. Also through the office, other IPaqs, and Palms are having problems or rendered useless. More on this conversation if needed and if email issue is resolved.
If this service helps us to resolve our problems we will likely subscribe long term, you gain a customer, Novell keeps one, and MS probably misses another.
Thank you for your help!
