Can I import old GW Archives into Outlook without running Groupwise?
We currently run Exchange 2003 and I had set one user with large volume of emails to use Archives. Unfortunately, I effed up and saved the archives on the C drive which crashed. Of course no backup AND we destroyed the failed hard drive so no way to recover the bits either.
We do, however, have the old Groupwise Archives on the server from our migration last year.
Is there a way to import those Groupwise Archives without having to boot up the old Novell server?
I tried Transend but they require the server running GW.

billmercer, this idea looks great. I've started the process to install GW Client as Remote and it's asking me to setup an account.
Since I don't have the GW Server up, do I set the account as POP or IMAP?

I don't think it matters, since you won't actually be using a server connection.
Your goal is to edit the remote mailbox location to point to a copy of the person's database, and then launch GroupWise in remote mode. If all goes well, GroupWise will see the files and think they are a remote database and try to open them directly.
Mind you, this is speculation on my part, I'm not certain this will work.
Personally, if I were in a hurry, I'd go ahead and fire up the old machine and connect to it long enough to retrieve my information. It might be faster in the long run.

Server was unavaiable so this solution was a great alternative. It did require some extra attempts to get GW to see the correct archived files, but eventually got it.
