The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Groupwise addresses in Exchange

Asked by swgeckoman in Novell Groupwise, Exchange Email Server

I am trying to find a good way to view and resolve GroupWise email addresses (SMTP only) through a Global Address Book in Exchange 2003 SP2.  We initially tried to have the servers communicate via connector, but the HTML in email was getting butchered, and the connector was, at times, crash-prone.  Our solution right now involves email going from the outside directly into GroupWise (@example.com) , landing in mailboxes (all users have GW mailboxes) and the Exchange users get their mail via forwarding (@migrate.example.com).  The Exchange system forwards mail to GW users by way of shared namespace (KB Article 321721).  So Groupwise users have a full address book, and don't see odd email addresses.  Exchange users see each other, but can't resolve GroupWise addresses.  We've briefly looked at LDAP, but due to the fact that this does not create entries in an OAB, not really the way we want to go.  Ideally, I'd like to create a mechanism by which we can export GW addresses and import them into AD as contacts, without having to use the Novell Groupwise Connector for Exchange.

You might guess that we are moving to Exchange, but not just yet since we have so many other projects that need to be complete first.  The people that are on Exchange now are the result of a merger, and we see no reason to move them to GW and learn a new system, only to move them right back in 12-18 months.

I'd appreciate any input, since a big part of my question is "Is this in any way possible?" Start Free Trial
