The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Can you use windows environment variables (such as %username%) in LotusScript?

Asked by PeteJThomas in Lotus Domino Email Server, Lotus Notes

Hi all,

Hopefully a quick question - My colleague is trying to create a button in LotusScript that we can send out to all users, that effectively asks a few questions, and the answers the users type will be automatically inserted into a signature file for all outgoing mails.

The problem we're currently encountering is that a lot of our users share PCs (different shifts etc) so we need a way of separating the signature file to use for each user of a PC.

The button works fine if you specify a generic path (e.g. C:\Signatures\Sig1 or something), but what we want to do is have it so that the signature file is saved to the currently logged on Windows users profile.

So one example of a path we've tried is "Const Sig_Directory = C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Signature". As soon as we try using that windows variable (or any other) we simply get the error 'Path not found' when you click the button.

So we need to know whether there is a way to use the Windows environment variables in LotusScript, as the problem only occurs when we try, so I can only assume that this is the cause of the problem!

Anyone have any ideas??

If you need more info, just ask!

Thanks!
