Is it possible to write script to copy a UNID

I have a Live document and I create a copy of this one and put it through an approval cycle to eventually replace the original. The problem is  I need to swap the document's unids when the new one replaces the original live version. I am not concerned wether the original live is deleted. The reason I want to do it is to replace the document that is associated with a doclink in a hotspot

Techniclaly you CAN write UNIDs, but you can really get screwed up results.

I would not use db.Search.  I would create a view with a selection formula of SELECT FORM = "Content1" & Status = "Live"

Now, I can replace set collection = db.Search(....)

with

Set view = db.getView("name of your view")
set collection = view.getAllDocumentsByKey(doc1.ContentID(0))

It will be MUCH quicker after the intial build of the view.

If you insist on db.Search, then the answer is the same as to your last problem.  You mixed up what's a fixed part of the formula, and what is in your LotusScript.  You want a formula something like:

Form = "Content1" & Status = "Live" & ContentID = "xxxx"
Where xxxx matches doc1.ContentId(0)}

What you actually wrote was:
Form = "Content1" & Status = "Live" & ContentID = xxxx
Where xxxx matches doc1.ContentId(0)}
In other words, you lack quotes around the final value.

Further, doc.ContentID(0) exists as a value in your LotusScript. The formula has to be self contained, referencing ONLY the document being evaluated. You want to "escape out" of the fixed formula:

... & ContentID = "} & doc1.ContentID(0) & {"}
