Outlook’s “Out of Office” (OOO) feature is a wonderful tool if your mailbox is hosted on Exchange. When it’s turned on, your Exchange server sends a reply to anyone who emails you, letting them know that you are out of the office.

There’s the rub, though. It only works if you remember to turn it on before exiting Outlook and leaving your office. I can’t begin to count the number of times that I’ve been on my way out of town only to remember that I forgot to turn on OOO. Fortunately I have a mobile device that allows me to turn it on remotely. There are other ways to turn OOO on remotely (e.g. Outlook Web Access, a notebook ...

Issue. I’m something of a stickler for keeping appointments. I make it a point to arrive at meetings on time. I think it’s rude and unprofessional to arrive late or, worse, not show up at all. Following the advice of "Getting Things Done" author David Allen I created a trusted system for managing all the details of my life. I settled on using Outlook. When I make an appointment or schedule a meeting I put it on my calendar immediately. I’ve configured Outlook to remind me of all appointments/meetings 15 minutes before they start. Issue. Have you ever sent an email and forgotten to add the attachment? How embarrassing!!!! Here's a short Outlook macro that will make sure that never happens again.

If I catch the error, then I quickly send another message with ...

Issue. Have you ever received an email with a blank subject line? Have you ever clicked "Send" only to realize that you forgot to add a subject? It’s frustrating to receive a message with no subject. You’ve no idea what the message is about, how important it is, whether it’s a legitimate message or spam, etc. It’s even worse to send a message and forget to fill the subject in. I’ve done it and I always feel foolish afterward. I can’t help thinking what the recipients think. This is especially true in a corporate environment where a message without a subject is downright unprofessional.

I need to loop through an outlook folder using a For Next loop instead of a For Each loop. I can get the For Each to work but only half the emails actually move. I have two issues I need help with.
1. I want to do my For loop backwards (step -1 in VB) and I don’t know how to do that in C#
2. oMailItem1 = oFolderIn.Items(i); doesn’t work and I don’t know the proper syntax.

private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)

Hello All,

I am running Windows 7 with Microsoft Office/Businesss Contact Manager 2010. I have a local BCM database. I would like to do one of two things:

1) Move the current BCM database to a different location. The location is a local drive (folder).
or
2) Create a new BCM database in a different location. For some reason when I go to create a new BCM database it does not give a location option. The location is a local drive (folder).
