Hello MrT,

a much requested problem on the newsgroups it's by design if you use outlook as fax app also

there are three ways around this

1.
use a seperate contact list for the fax numbers

2.
move the fax number to another field

3.
a long post on the outlook newsgroup

-------------------------------------
To those of you who have spent countless hours trying to find a solution to
this problem, including myself, I would like to now disclose a very nice
workaround.  Some of you will find this unacceptable.  But, for those of us
who just want the FAX entries out of the address book, while still being
allowed to keep FAX numbers where they belong, and while still allowing
Palms and Pocket PCs to find the FAX numbers in the appropriate place during
a sync, will find this solution very acceptable.  Here you go...

Solution to Hiding Address Book FAX Recipients
---------------------------------------------------
Affected Application: Microsoft Outlook
Tested Version(s): 2000, 2002(XP)

Scope
-------
The following FAX number fields are affected by this fix.

- Business Fax
- Home Fax
- Other Fax

Solution:
----------
To hide entries, place 1 or more characters of the alphabet in front of the
entry.

Summary & Example:
----------------------
Instead of the field containing only the FAX number like this.
(555) 555-1212

You could type the following example to hide it from the address book.
BF (555) 555-1212

I have choosen to use the characters that identify which FAX it belongs to,
ie. BF - Business FAX, HF - Home FAX, OF - Other FAX.  However, you may
choose any character you would like as long as it is alpha - numbers and
symbols do not work.

I sincerely hope this helps,

Greg Steirer
-------------------------------------

hope this will get you going
